Midday Meal Program is carried out only in Government aided Primary Schools and Municipal Primary Schools.

The Education Department of the Government of Maharashtra through its Education Inspectors selects the schools.

The Parent Teacher Association and the Management of these schools give their consent on this matter.

The facility is available only for schools that have secular policy for admissions. Schools in rural areas adjacent to Mumbai such as Wada and Palghar have also been included in the programme.
